What Next, WHAT Next????
Well, I’ve been on a roll this week with the blog stuff, why stop now?!!! I am absolutely pisssed off!! Why? Well, somebody, a single individual, has made a complaint about the Flag-Folding ceremony at military funerals. The complaint was in regard to religion. But, before I get into that, have any veterans out there ever participated in a military funeral and folded, presented a flag? I never did. So to educate the rest of the crowd, let’s get down and dirty to learn what all the folds mean. Remember that our Country was founded on religious principles and I daresay the person who has the chutzpah to complain doesn’t understand anything about the founding. I’ll take a stab that it’s a liberal atheist hating Jew…The eleventh fold is prompted the complaint.
The sea (canton) of blue and the stars represent the states of the veterans who served and honors them. The canton field of blue dresses from left to right and is inverted when draped as a pall on a casket of a veteran who has served our country in uniform. Every military person reading this knows of Reveille and Retreat. Retreating the flag every evening, and then hoisting it at Reveille as a symbol of the soldier’s resurrection.
The first fold is a symbol of life.
The second fold is a symbol of our belief in the eternal life.
The third fold is made in honor and remembrance of the fallen veteran in defense of our Country and Peace worldwide.
The fourth fold represents our weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in times of war for His divine guidance.
The fifth fold is a tribute to our country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, "Our country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong."
The sixth fold is for where our hearts lie. It is with our heart that we pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
The seventh fold is a tribute to our Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that we protect our country and our flag against all her enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of our republic.
The eighth fold is a tribute to the one who entered in to the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day, and to honor mother, for whom it flies on Mother's Day. (Psalm 23, for you atheists)
The ninth fold is a tribute to womanhood; for it has been through their faith, love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great have been molded.
The tenth fold is a tribute to father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of our country since they were first born.
The eleventh fold, in the eyes of a Hebrew citizen, represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon, and glorifies, in their eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
The twelfth fold, in the eyes of a Christian citizen, represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in their eyes, God the Father, the Son, and Holy Ghost.
And, did you know the presentation of the stars after folding represents the words “In God We Trust.” It is our national motto. I did not know we had a national motto. So is that one more thing our kids won’t learn because, shitt, it has the word GOD in it!!
(My brother had a saying in High School…It’s when you think you know it all, that begins the real learning…)
That one complaint would prompt this banning this ceremony, the last debt we pay to our fallen, is despicable. And has it garnered any attention in the MSM? I don’t even know where I found the story…but the date is October 25th 2007. There are 125 National Cemeteries in 39 States. WTF??? Why are people not standing up against the establishments that make the rules. This is an outrage and completely unacceptable!
Just another example of the weak governing body we have to exclude the principles of our Founding. So effing what if the Flag-folding it not part of the US Flag Code. (US 36-10,sec174)?
WE all know the honor that should be given. And, I am reasonably sure that the families of the fallen have some say in the funeral arrangements, unless the soldier had provided specific details. Would those reading agree?
Here is a link to the article, which I did not read past the photo of the two men…I was too incensed!!
